I cannot tell you how excited I am to have the opportunity to work with such talented educators.As principal of Benbrook, I very much look forward to continuing the academic excellence initiated by the Houston Independent School District. Please know that I cannot accomplish this alone. As committed educators, you hold several key components towards building the academic success of our students. You should never underestimate the role you play in lives of the students entrusted in our care.
As I reflect on my past educational experience, it seems clear that I have long been preparing for "such a time as this!" My educational experience spans 18 years and I've worked with students in grades K through 12. I have had classroom/small;; group experience, with reading as a major area of concentration. For 17 of those years, I have been a certified educator with this school system.
Several of our colleagues have been working with me over the past few days to design an instructional program that meets the needs or our students, empower teachers, and utilizes resources efficiently. The Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) is committed to improving the educational experience of each student we serve here at Benbrook.
There will be times that I will appeal to you for support for things that I believe will benefit the entire school population. I will truly appreciate your support regarding these basic decisions.
In closing, I look forward to continue a year of great excitement, challenges and growth for us all. Please join me in working towards the betterment of the Benbrook School Community. I promise you that the best is yet to come.
