Student Activities

The Bobcat Wildlife Learning Center was established in 2004.  Students assume the responsibility of maintaining the wildlife habitat.  Many times, they can be seen planting, pruning, cleaning, and simply enjoying its beauty.  Many of natures inhabitants also enjoy this wonderful place!  Fish, turtles and frogs can be found swimming in the pond, while butterflies and other insects prefer the different plants and flowers.

Trail Ride

On Friday Feb 27, 2009, students from Braeburn Elementary participated in the 2009 Horseshoes from the Heart and Los Vaqueros trail ride.  The organization’s mission is to include disabled individuals in any and all outdoors activities, while creating a unique opportunity for participants to learn of Texas history and the trail ride traditions.  The parade  included two custom-made wagons specially design to accommodate wheelchairs and children with special needs The parade blazed from Westbury Little League field, through Bellaire and ended at the Williams Tower making stops at several HISD and private schools.  The trail ride has been held annually for the last 14 years.

Braeburn Soccer Team

For the last several years Braeburn has enjoyed a great deal of success with its soccer team. Talented 4th and 5th graders who can pass rigorous tryouts have an opportunity to join Braebrun Bobcats soccer team led by coach Astanov. In 2006 Braeburn won 1st place among ten other HISD schools. Soccer also motivates the boys to do well in their academics. In the photos, you can see moments from games against Benavidez and Bonham.
