Some Braeburn students had the good fortune of participating in a question and answer session with NASA astronaut, Jose Hernandez.  Mr. Hernandez shared lots of information with the students regarding space exploration, along with specific details related to his preparation as a NASA astronaut.  The students also had the opportunity to interact with Mr.Hernandez as they asked him questions they had created.

.

Below are the questions Braeburn's students formulated and asked Jose Hernandez (NASA Astronaut) during the interview:

•Do you think children will ever be allowed to travel to space?

•Assuming that we could live on other planets, and the Earth became too crowded, which planet would you choose to live on? Why?

•How do you determine your daily schedule or keep time in outer space?  For example, do you use Earth time and if so, is it central, etc.?

• How do you become an astronaut?

•How do astronauts train to float in space?

•Why  do you need to learn mathematics in space and how do you use mathematics in space?

•How does the Sun looks in space compared on how it looks from Earth?

•What is the reason for going to the moon if there isn’t anything there but rocks and dust?

•How does your body feel different when you are in the space?  Do you usually go to the restroom, feel hungry, thirsty or sleepy like you feel here on the Earth?

•How does the view of the earth space differ from the view we see of the moon from here on earth?

•What activities do you all do when you are not working?  (what do you do for fun)
