Our Principal, Peter Heinze
I am very excited to be selected as the new principal of Briarmeadow Charter School. My wife Lisa and I have been married for 20 years. She is also an educator. We have three beautiful children, Jennie who is a junior in high school. Our twins, Andrew and Caroline are entering fourth grade.
I have 26 years of experience with the Houston Independent School District. I graduated with an elementary education/early childhood degree and then spent 15 years teaching and working with elementary students and families. My most recent administration assignment was at Shadowbriar Elementary School where I served as principal. Prior to that, I was the associate principal at Sharpstown Middle School and assistant principal at Burbank Elementary School.
During my experience at Sharptown Middle School I was selected as the Assistant Principal of the Year for Region IV and was chosen as a state finalist. Being honored was a real highlight in my professional career, however, nothing compares with developing an educational relationship with students and watching them succeed.
To possess the experience at both the elementary and middle school levels and to have a school that nurtures the learning of children from kindergarten through middle school is a dream come true. I promise to work diligently to keep Briarmeadow Charter School a top-notch school; one in which students are safe, growing in mind and spirit and are happy. My door is always open.
