Answers

1.  "out of uniform"
Uniform policy will be strictly enforced.  Although elementary students are given the  opportunity to change into a uniform item the school has, BCS has limited middle school sizes, which means a parent will be called to bring uniform item to school.  Detention and loss of casual dress day will happen but for repeated violations, suspension is a disciplinary action for Level III violations in HISD’s Code of Student Conduct.

2.     "tops or bottom"
Shirts must be tucked in at all times and may NOT have splits or slits.  Spandex or similar materials are not allowed.  However, many violations occurred last year with the colors of items.  For tops: red, white, navy blue, dark/forest green and bright yellow ONLY (no light or pastel colors).  For bottoms: blue jeans (not black, tan, etc.), khaki or navy blue ONLY.  Appropriate fit was the area where most violations occurred: shirts and pants MAY not be tight, extremely short, or low (low-cut blouses or low-riding pants).

5.  "make-up, jewelry, accessories"
Jewelry, hair styles/colors, or make-up that distracts from the educational process is NOT allowed.  If these things draw attention to the student, it’s NOT acceptable (purple hair, evening-type make-up, excessive/inappropriate jewelry pieces, etc.) Personal grooming is restricted to restroom facilities. No body piercing allowed except for earrings.  Headwear and sunglasses are prohibited.
