The art program is designed to encourage the students to become aware of art in the environment, community and culture.

Art techniques that are taught include: painting, cereamics, collage, drawing, sculpture, and many more. The students study classic and contemporary artists and the historical contents of their work.

Every year, Burrus students win scholarships to the Glassell Junior School, part of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.  We also have winners for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Arts Contest as well as many other contests throughout Houston.
