I would like to share some more information with each of you as you browse through our update website.
Burrus Elementary was one of the first schools to have a Magnet Fine Arts school in 1975. Burrus has produced many famous musicians such as Internationally Renown Soprano Faye Robinson and Jazz Musicians Hubert & Eloise Laws & Wayne Henderson. Burrus Fine Arts Magnet is composed of Art, Dance, Gymnastic, Band, Computer and Science Labs for Pre- Kindergarten through Fifth Grades.
I am very pleased to announce that Burrus now has incorporated the Gifted and Talented Program. This program was implemented in order to challenge students who tend to move a bit faster in their regular classes. All teachers are certified to teach gifted and talented children.
Burrus Fine Arts Magnet is very fortunate to be in partnership with The Internationally Renown Houston Children's Choir. Our students participate with other students from all over Houston and the surrounding Greater Metropolitan Area under the " Baton" of Maestro Steve Roddy, CEO and Founder.

- & many More
We are very fortunate to have the 21st Century Program. Our Washington Feeder Pattern Coordinator is Mr. Reginald Bush and Burrus' Elementary Campus Director is Ms. Maria Hudson. Burrus offers the following 21st Century activities and classes through Soaring With Eagles, Mr. Derrick Harris, Consultant.

- Spanish Classes (taught by Impact II)
