Physical Education 

Barbara Bush Physical Education strives to provide students with positive opportunities to participate in activities that will lay a foundation for life long fitness and wellness for the individual student. Classes include health and safety instruction as well as rhythms/dance, curricular and extra curricular sports, movement exploration, and fitness.

Ten steps to success in HPE AND A HEALTHY LIFE STYLE

  • Encourage your child to participate in active play outside of school, both organized and non-structured with a balance of study and recreational time

  • Dress appropriately for physical activity, both at home and school

  • Be aware of specific curriculum and general information concerning HPE issues on Barbara Bush web site and posted outside gym

  • Encourage your child and self to maintain a healthy diet, regular exercise, and rest with a life-long view

  • Be sure that your child understands and practices good personal hygiene

  • Have a positive attitude toward your child’s activities; be supportive and encouraging

  • Think of physical activities that you and your child can do together

  • Encourage your child to share personal physical activities by bringing in photos for our inspiration wall

  • Communicate with your child on health issues like: tobacco, alcohol, drugs and environmental hazards, like sun and air quality

  • Help support the concept and importance of fair play, teamwork and sportsmanship
