VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) are HISD and school volunteers. All school volunteers must register online or at the school and pass a criminal background check before they can participate as a volunteer at the school or attend a field trip.
To register online, click on the VIPS link under external links or download and completely fill out an application form and bring it to the school along with a valid form of ID.
The PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is an active group of volunteers and parents dedicated to our children in their homes, schools and community. The PTO raises money to sponsor many activities for the students throughout the school year.
Cage Elementary encourages you to be an active member of our school family that truly cares about our children and is dedicated to enriching their school experience.
Communities in Schools (CIS) is a non- profit organization that encourages at-risk students to remain in school by providing and coordinating social services that meet their physical and emotional needs.
We provide our program year-round to at risk children and their families. CIS offers six core services at the school campus: Tutoring/Mentoring, Supportive Guidance, Parental Involvement, Cultural Enrichment, Career Awareness, and Referrals to Other Social Services. This holistic approach to dropout prevention addresses the physical, emotional, and academic needs of at-risk children and provides them with a ‘safety net’ at the school site.
We also offer ESL, Nutrition, Violence Prevention/Substance Abuse, Arts & Crafts, and Fitness classes for parents.
Please contact Rose Amaro at (713) 926-7061 or the school office for more information.
