Carrillo Elementary School will work with parents and students to ensure
that student attendance is at or above 98% for the 2001-2002 school year.
Students should be in school every day. The only
acceptable excuses are personal illness, family illness, or death of
relative. A written excuse from the parent or doctor must be
given to the teacher upon the child’s return to school. We will strictly
enforce all state guidelines regarding student attendance, which allows
students no more than (5) absences per semester. Any absences in excess of
this will cause your child to be retained.
In case of student absence, parents should call the school at 924-1870.
The attendance clerk or other staff member will contact the parents of
absent students before 10:00 to confirm student absence. If your child is
absent 3 consecutive days or has a pattern of being absent from school an

STUDENT CONDUCT

The faculty and staff of Carrillo Elementary School
believe proper student discipline is essential to maintaining a school
environment free of disruptions that interfere with the educational
process. All participants in the education process, - students, teachers,
staff and parents - are responsible for creating a nurturing, stimulating
learning environment. Students are expected to be prepared, become active
and involved learners upon entering each classroom. Anything that
interferes with the learning process simply will not be tolerated.
It is the responsibility of the parents and students to
become familiar with the rules and regulations of the school. Each student
