Daphne Morgan,
Title I Coordinator at Felix Cook Elementary School. I have over 30
years teaching experience in HISD.
I am a graduate of Prairie View A
& M University. I enjoy working with teachers, students and
parents. I believe “If you can change a mind….you can change the
world.”
LaWanda Williams:
I am the Literacy Coach at Felix Cook, Jr.
Elementary. I am from Houston, Texas. I attended Sam Houston
State University in Huntsville, Texas where I graduated with a
Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice. I later received my
teaching certification from Houston Alternative Certification
Program as well as my Masters of Education in Curriculum and
Instruction with an emphasis in Reading from Grand Canyon
University. I have taught 11 years in Houston Independent School
District. I am very compassionate about students’ academic
achievement and for students to become life-long learners and
readers. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family,
traveling, reading, attending and supporting the professional teams
of Houston!
Yvonne Parks:
Hello! My name is Yvonne Parks and the 2009-2010 school year is my
first year at Felix Cook Elementary as the school guidance
counselor. I received my Bachelors Degree from Texas Southern
University in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Educational
Leadership and Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. I was a
classroom teacher with 3rd, 4th and 5th
grade experience.
I love working with
children and families and truly enjoy my job as a school
counselor. It is my goal to help students achieve social, emotional,
and academic success. I look forward to working with the staff,
students, and parents at Felix Cook Elementary School and I am
very excited about the 2009-2010 school year
Sonya Hamilton:
My name is Sonya Hamilton, Instructional
Coordinator at Felix Cook, Jr. Fine Arts Academy. I am a native of
Houston Texas. I attended Texas Woman’s University where I received
my Bachelors of Science Degree in Elementary Education. I am
currently a graduate student at the University of Houston Clear
Lake, pursuing my Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and
Instruction with an emphasis in Language Arts. I have taught for 11
years in the Houston Independent School District. I am committed to
providing instruction that fosters critical thinking and problem
solving to prepare students for college and the many opportunities
that await them.
Arlyn Jackson: I am Arlyn
Jackson, Magnet Coordinator at Felix Cook, Jr. Elementary and Fine
Arts Academy. I am from Katy, Texas. I attended Prairie View A&M
University where I received a Bachelors of Science Degree in
Business Education and a Masters of Education Degree in Early
Childhood. I received my teaching certification in Elementary
Education. I have taught for many years and loved every moment! I
believe that all children can learn and be successful in life.
Carolyn Bass-Bailey: I am
Carolyn Bass-Bailey, School Nurse at Felix Cook Jr. Elementary
School. I have over 18 years experience in HISD. I am a native
Houstonian and a graduate of Phillis Wheatley High School and
Prairie View A & M University. I hold a Masters Degree in Health
Education from Texas Southern University.
I believe in providing comprehensive preventive health care to the
students and staff of Felix Cook Elementary in order to improve
attendance and enhance daily instruction.
