Meet the  Special Education Team

Kerrell Y. Comeaux, Special Education Life Skills teacher at Felix Cook Elementary Elementary.  I am a graduate of the University of Houston-Downtown, and currently working towards my Masters degree in Advanced Literacy Instruction from Concordia University in Austin, Texas. This is my second year of teaching at Felix Cook Elementary. I enjoy watching my students get excited about their learning achievements.

Doris Wheeler, Resource teacher/ Department Chairperson at Felix Cook Elementary.  I have over 33 years of teaching experience with Houston ISD.  I am a graduate of Grambling State University and I enjoy watching the students flourish in their academic achievements. 

Reuben Stiff, Special Education Life Skills teacher at Felix Cook Elementary.  I am a proud graduate of Alcorn State University.  This is my fourth year working with Life Skills.  I believe every child should be given the opportunity to learn.  Every child is unique and special.

Ruth Ward, Resource teacher who works with Special Education students from Kindergarten to fifth grade.  This is my fourth year at Felix Cook Elementary. I endeavor to create a rich and stimulating learning environment with activities that enable my students to reach their zone of proximal development.

Akwete Riley Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist at Felix Cook Elementary.  I am a graduate of Morgan Statue University and the University of Houston.  This is my second year in Stallion Land and I consider it an honor to help students overcome their articulation, language, and fluency challenges.

Adejoke Areago,  Resource teacher at Felix Cook Elementary.  I am a graduate of Texas Southern University were I earned a Bachelors Degree in Journalism.  I have taught at Felix Cook Elementary School for 4 years and I have a total of 12 years teaching experience.  I enjoy teaching and watching my students grow by leaps and bounds.

Louis Brown  Behaviorial Support Class teacher has been employed by Houston I.S.D.for twenty one years. I was hired in 1988 as an Alternative Certification Intern. I have a teacher’s certification for working with special needs children who are in need of behavioral modifications.
