| The fourth grade always welcomes
donations made to its grade level. Some things that would be
especially appreciated are used or new books, computer software,
playground equipment, pencils, and paper. Of course anything else
school related would be put to good use! If you have things that you
would like to donate, contact your child's teacher, or Mrs. Betty Earl, the
fourth grade chairperson.

Wondering what books are appropriate for your fourth grader? Here's a list of our suggestions. Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing We encourage you to take your child to the library to check out books. The students visit the school library once a week and can choose from a wide variety of books there, as well. Ask the librarian for additional recommended reading material!

The fourth Graders at Cornelius Elementary are earning money while they are learning. This program is sponsored by the Learning of Houston. Each book read enriches students in two ways. First, students gain a wealth of knowledge and enjoyment by reading. Secondly, the students gain the knowledge of how one can get financial rewards by doing a good job. The students earn $1.00 for each book read with a maximum of ten books. In December, students enjoyed receiving their first of two checks. Many students knew exactly what they wanted to buy with their money since Christmas was fast approaching. All students are looking forward to receiving their next check. Just in time for summer vacation! |
