Alejandra Garcia Wins
National Torani Art Contest

Budding
student artist Alejandra Garcia’s artwork has received wide exposure
through display in coffeehouses and kitchens throughout the country,
consequent to her winning the Torani National Art Contest. This
contest was for open to all the students enrolled in the after
school programs nationwide. The complimentary colors the artist used
on her design created a rainbow effect—a design that caught the
beverage company’s eye. Torani will donate five percent of the
product’s sales to the Afterschool Alliance. |

About a year later in May
2007, my wife Geetha Thomas (who is Alegandra’s art teacher) and I
briefly visited Sonoma, California (almost 2000 miles away from Houston,
TX). We went to a local Ice cream parlor and were very pleasantly
surprised (and delighted) to see Torani’s Cherry flavor Syrup bottle
with Alejandra’s design among the products being offered for the
customers at the store!
