Konnichiwa!
On Japan Day, students got to school early in the morning, dressing in their beautiful Japanese garb – the Kimono and how lovely they looked!  They were lined up by the door to the cafeteria with their hands together and bowed like the Japanese do, greeting teachers and parents in Japanese-style “Ohayo gozaimatsu Sen sei”, and their fellow students with “Ohayo gozaimas”.

Ms. Mercado, principal at Cunningham along with students of the Japan Social Studies Class  welcome staff and students to school.

Meanwhile, the main hallway leading to the office and passing through the Principal’s office were decorated with Japanese artifacts, manga drawings, origami, Japan flag and pictures of Japan – with special gratitude to Japan’s Consulate General’s Office in Houston.
