We are excited about being able to offer a neighborhood Gifted and Talented program again for the 2006-2007 school year at Cunningham Elementary School. A G/T program is for students that exhibit high performance capabilities in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area, possess an unusual capacity for leadership, and/or excels in a specific academic field. We have already tested both our Kindergarten and Fifth grade students as the District requires. However, students from all levels, Kindergarten through Fourth grade, are able to apply for the G/T program. We will be accepting applications, beginning Monday, October 22, 2007. The deadline will be Monday, November 19, 2007. Your child may ask his/her teacher for an application for you to fill out. After the application is filled out and appropriate testing takes place, you will receive a letter as to whether or not your child has qualified for our neighborhood G/T program for the 2006-2007 school year.

All applicants will be evaluated on multiple criteria, including:

·         Abilities Testing (Naglieri Abilities Test)
  NNAT

·         Teacher Observation

·         Grades
