Dress Code

Students
are expected to wear a school uniform. The school uniform consists of a
white shirt or blouse and navy blue slacks, walking shorts, skirts or
jumpers. Shoes should be appropriate for active play on the school grounds
(tennis shoes, oxfords, etc.) Students should come to school clean and
neatly groomed. Below
are more details.

- Navy blue/khaki dresses,
skirts, pants, or knee-length shorts.
Long or short sleeve, red, white, or navy blouse (plain) tucked in.
All clothes must be appropriately sized.

shirts, which must be tucked in.

- No jewelry except stud
earrings.

|
|

|
- No makeup or false fingernails.
|
Guidelines common to both:
-
Shoes that do not cause
health or safety hazards should be worn with socks.

Clothing should be
clean, physically presentable, and appropriate for weather conditions.
Slogans, suggestive pictures, or crude language are never appropriate
for school.

Hair should be neatly
groomed. Hair is to be free of lice and/or nits at all times. Periodic
head checks are to be conducted. If nits and/or head lice are
detected, it is the responsibility of the parents to clean the heads
of nits/lice, and the child/children are to return to school the next
day. The student must be excluded from class if he/she has head
nits/lice.
TOPS
• Solid blue or white, shirts/blouses with a
collar, long or short sleeves, regular length, to be tucked in the
pants, skirts, shorts, jumper, etc.
• Shirts/blouses may be knit as long as they
have a collar
• Shirt-tails must be tucked in at all times
• Shirtsleeves must cover shoulders,
no jerseys or tank tops.
BOTTOMS
• Solid navy or khaki belted at waist unless elastic
waisted
• All bottoms must be hemmed
• Solid navy or khaki skirts/shorts/pants or jumpers
• Skirts and shorts must be no more than 2 inches
above the knee
SWEATERS
• Solid navy button-up or pull-on
sweater
• Turtlenecks will be acceptable
during cold weather, but colors are limited to white or navy
• Uniform colors do not apply to coats or jackets
worn during cold weather
SOCKS/STOCKINGS
• navy or white
MAKE-UP
• No make-up, nail polish, or hats/caps will be worn
in the building
HAIR
• Hair should be well-groomed and clean
JEWELRY
• No earrings or necklaces with gang-related themes
of any kind will be allowed.
On Fridays, students may wear
any Durkee school or uniform shirt with their navy or khaki pants,
shorts, or skirts.
