Eugene Field Elementary School has been in the Historic Heights area for over 80 years. The school is named after famed poet Eugene Field. Presently the school services over 460 students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth. At Field we strive to maintain a rigorous curriculum and because of the hard work and dedication of its faculty and staff have received many achievements.

As part of our commitment to excellence we have created an advanced and rigorouse pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade program as well as organized pull out sessions for students in grades two through five to service the gifted students on our campus. We have also joined the nations push on more science and mathematics exposure for our children by building a science and math laboratory fully equipped with materials for students to engage, learn, and investigate.

Field also believes in nurturing the fine arts, as part of our enrichment we offer choir, an instrumental class, and an African Drum class. Our pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students are exposed to the fine arts through music and play.

The school also has a free afterschool program from 3:00-6:00 daily for all grade levels. During this time the students take part in many enrichment activities.
