GradeSpeed Online Gradebook
Houston Independent School District is now using an online grade book program that will allow parents and students the opportunity to view their grades online anytime. This program has the ability for parents and students to receive text messages or emails when grades fail below a certain average (individually set) or when absent from school. Also, it allows all users the ability to send notes to the teacher about a grade, an assignment, or any other questions. To access this information you must know the student registration information and login at www.houstonisd.org under the parent tab beginning September 28, 2009.
Super Friday
This school year, for 3rd thru 5th grade only, we will implement a new program on Fridays. Our students will receive intense instruction in Math, Science, English, Reading, or Social Studies until lunch. Each Friday will cover a different subject that is tested for that grade level.
If the student meet the goals set by the teacher, then they will be allowed to go to enrichment class and clubs (i.e. Art Club, Book Club, Math/Technology Club, etc.). If the student does not meet the goal set by the teacher, then they receive more intense instruction to help them master the skills that they are missing in that subject area. Students and parents will receive more information regarding this program in the near future.
The Pre-Kindergarten thru 2nd grade classes will stay on the same schedule.

Thanks to the hard work of our faculty, staff and students, Field Elementary School's TAKS scores show an Exemplary Rating.
