My
philosophy in education is that “All children CAN learn when
GIVEN the OPPORTUNITY”. It is my passion to assist teachers
with “at risk” students by targeting their instruction and gauging their
success.
Hello, I am Martha Garcia, Title I Coordinator. Welcome to another great school year here at Garcia Elementary. I look forward to working with parents, teachers and students each and everyday. Our campus is a Title I school because Title I is a federal funded program with the intent to improve the academic achievement of students who are economically disadvantaged. The purpose of Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). As Title I Coordinator, I coordinate the parental involvement monthly meetings, VIPS (Volunteers in Public School), grade level field lessons, and make sure that the Title I student data is up to date in the district’s system. I also coordinate the Title III program on our campus. Our campus is also a Title III school because of the bilingual population on our campus. I keep up to date all the information relating to our LEP (Limited English Proficiency) student files and student data in the district’s system. As an educator, I strive to provide the best support to our students, teachers and parents. “To teach, to guide, to explain, to help, to nurture- these are life’s noblest attainments.” -Frank Tyger
