GORDON SPELLING BEE
The
annual Gordon Spelling Bee was held on Monday,
January 28, 2008 at 9:00
am in the cafeteria. Students from
grades 3 – 5 participated.
Two students from each class were
chosen either by winning
their classroom spelling bees or by
teacher discretion.
1st Place – Vannesa Araniva
2nd Place – Daniela Olvera
3rd Place – Josue Reyes

VOLUNTEERS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS
You, too, can be a VIPS by contributing
your time and efforts to assist
GORDON Elementary School students in achieving high academic
goals. Volunteers can help by tutoring students in math,
listening to students read or helping students practice
spelling words. They can also assist teachers by grading
papers, preparing classroom bulletin boards and preparing
materials.
Before anyone can participate as a
VIPS, he/she must register online and pass a criminal
background check. Register online at
