Our Mission Statement
Hartsfield Elementary School is dedicated to meeting the individual needs of all students. It is our goal to promote high expectations and facilitate a positive and creative learning environment, where all children are expected to learn and perform to their highest potential. Hartsfield Elementary School's parents, faculty, staff, community, and business partners come to work together in a collaborative and cooperative effort to enable student to reach their fullest potential. Realizing that "Attitude is Everything" with regards to instruction, our school motto is "We Strive to Achieve".
Hartsfield Elementary School is an urban school-wide Title One campus with a predominantly African-American population. It is located in the South Park neighborhood of southeast Houston, in the Palm Center area. Hartsfield has a population of 367 students (Pre-k thru 5th). The ethnic distributions 80% African-American and 20% Hispanic American. Ninety six percent (96.0%) of the students are economically disadvantaged and considered at-risk. The student attendance rate is 95%. Hartsfield professional staff includes 17 classroom teachers, One Reading First Teacher, Three Ancillary Teachers, Once Science Teacher, One Speech Therapist, One Title One Coordinator, One Nurse, and One Counselor. All of the professionals are Texas Certified.
