Title 1 |
Title 1 is a Federal Funded Program that serves as a source for ensuring a supplemental educational program to meet the needs of children attending our school. Nat Q. Henderson is classified as a Schoolwide Title I campus. Over ninety-nine percent (99.14%) of our student population participate in the National School Breakfast/lLunch (Free/Reduced) Program. Funds received for being a Title 1 campus are used to impact all students enrolled.
The contact person, Brenda Thomas-Milburn, and two teacher assistants give instructional services to our students. The students also receive materials and supplies, participate in after school tutorial, and Summer School instruction.
The Title I Team works closely with the parents through the Parent Advisory Council (PAC). Mrs. Thomas-Milburn provides training and instructional materials to the parents so that they are able to assist their children at home. It is the goal of the school for all children to be successful academically, socially, and emotionally.
