The J. Will Jones Student Guide
Hair • Hair should be neatly cut and combed. There shall be no inappropriate colors, symbols, words, etc. cut in hair.
Face • Face should be clean and make-up must be left at home.
Clothing • Students can choose any combination from the following colors.
Shirts • Light Blue, White, Yellow (Polo Style) or School T-Shirt.
Pants • Khaki, Navy Blue or Denim (Plain Style Only).
Caps and head coverings may not be worn in the building except for specific medical or religious reasons. Appropriate shoes must be worn. No backless shoes, thongs or heels. Tennis shoes are to be worn for PE. class. All shorts, skirts, and dresses must be no shorter than 3-4 inches above the top of the knee. Shirts must be shorter than the shorts or skirts worn with them. All pants must be worn at the waist with shirts tucked in.
Enrollment
To enroll your child at J. Will Jones you must bring the following:
1. Withdrawal Sheet • A copy of the check-out sheet from forwarding school. (If within same school year)
2. Report Card • A copy of latest report card from forwarding school.
3. Birth Certificate
4. Proof of Residence • Light, Gas, or Water bill. If recently moved, Lease agreement or Homeowner's proof.
5. Immunization Records • Tuberculin Skin Test(TB): Not Required
Parent Conferences
Parents are encouraged as a supplement to the information given on the report card. A parent conference can be made with the office administration, individual teachers, academic teams and grade level administrators. These meetings must be prearranged and cannot be guaranteed on a drop-in basis. To arrange for a conference stop by the main office or by phone (713) 942-1430. All visitors to the building must report immediately to the main office for a visitor's pass.

3:30 pm - 4:45 pm • Magnet Fine Arts Instructional Extended Day
4:45 pm • Magnet Students get on the Buses
4:45 pm - 5:15 pm • Parents Pick-Up Magnet Students not Riding Buses
Visitors
All visitors, relatives, friends etc., should report to the main office before entering classrooms, offices, labs, cafeteria etc. It is important for the safety of our teaching staff and students that visitors are identified through our office. A Sign-In/Out sheet will be available on the office counter. Visitors should limit their visitations and time so as not to interfere with the school day.
