FYI Adults/Parents - A simple booster shot rids the risk of TETANUS! •
There are a host of ways to encounter the bacteria Clostridium tetani--it is present in soil, dust, and manures of all kinds. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention states that gardening accounted for 39% of the tetanus cases in 2001. Puncture wounds--including bug bites--head the list of dangers. Between 10 & 18 % of those who contracted tetanus died, surviving victims spent up to a month in the hospital with bills exceeding $150,000. None were current with their shots.
Do not fail to get your tetanus booster (due once a decade/every 10 years) •
