Lightspan is a website with activities to support all academic subjects for grades K-12. Our user name is jwilljones. The password is jaguars.

EasyTech
EasyTech is a great website that teaches students, K-5, computer skills through fun short lessons. Activities include scanning, printing, web design, databases, etc. Our usernames are jwjonesk, jwjones1, jwjones2, jwjones3, jwjones4, and jwjones5. Select the username based on the appropriate grade level. The password for each is password.

Kids World 2000
This website has links to places all over the world from Aquariums to Zoos.

Funbrain
Funbrain is a great site that offers educational, interactive games for students of all ages. It even has a "Quiz Lab" in which teachers set up their own quiz for students who access it using a password.

Marmalade Man's Fantastic Math Tips
Learn interesting tips to help you memorize multiplication facts.

Ask Jeeves
This website offers a place for students to ask questions and get immediate answers.

Crayola
Everything you ever considered doing with crayons, and some that never occurred to you. The teacher part of this database has a searchable lesson plan database. This is a good site to explore with early childhood students. It also has a parents and kids component as well as the teacher area.

A+ Math
This site features all kinds of math problems.

Dino Directory
Search by body type or location where dinosaur bones/fossils have been found.

National Geographic for Kids
National Geographic has wonderful articles for children.

World Wildlife Fun
Up to date information on endangered animals.

The Houston Chronicle
Can't afford those expensive classroom newspaper subscriptions? Read the paper on the internet. It's free and doesn't require recycling.

Starchild
This is a NASA sponsored site for children who are interested in astronomy.

Quest
This is NASA's K-12 Internet Initiative. It is an interactive site where students can participate in live events with NASA's space scientists.

Dr. Seuss's Seussville
This site has games, events, and contests for children which are all based on Dr. Seuss books.

50 States and Capitals
Almost everything you wanted to know about the states are found on this site. It lists information and links on such things as the capitals, state birds, counties, free catalogs, unclaimed funds, etc.

Mother Goose Rebus Rhymes
There are over 45 nursery rhymes that are done in a rebus format. Your students will love reading them.

Zoom Whales
Everything students want to know about whales is located on this site. It includes information about the whales behavior, classification, picture glossary, classroom activities, puzzles, other whale links, and a geological time chart.

Everything students want to know about birds is located on this site. It includes information about bird watching, fossils, birds as symbols, and much more.

Blue Dog Can Count
This site provides students with a chance to practice math facts using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The student writes a problem and "Blue Dog" barks the answer.

This is a great place for kids to practice math facts. You can set up the program for the type of problems, complexity, number size, to keep score, with or without a timer, and for horizontal or vertical arrangement.
