Say Yes To A Youngster’s Future at John F. Kennedy Elementary

Theme for the 100-01 school Year is "Urban Ecosystem".

SAY YES will meet every 3rd Saturday of the month.

SAY YES To A Youngster’s Future is a program of the Houston Independent School District and the National Urban Coalition and is funded by the Shell Oil Company. SAY YES Family Day at Kennedy occurs on the third Saturday of each month.

Goals of the program:

To assist students in developing creative and efficient techniques in solving problems in science and mathematics through "hands - on" activity.

To aid parents in developing skills needed for effective parenting with their children in the learning process.

To provide opportunities whereby students will learn to apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate communicated ideas relative to relevant issues and current developments in mathematics and science.

To increase the interests of children of color, especially females, in the fields of math, science, and technology.

Campus goals:

To raise the level of parental involvement in our Family Days.
