1^ST GRADE NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER

Our learning goals and objectives for this month include:

In Reading/Language Arts we will continue to develop our reading and comprehension skills. We will also be exploring poetry and informational text.

**Please continue to log your child’s reading nightly on his/her reading log!

In Math we are building our number sense by learning about wholes and equal parts (fractions). You can help your child at home by exposing them to parts while cooking or doing any activity involving separating items into parts.J .

In Science we are continuing to participate in hands-on activities with measurement and extending our senses with real-life objects through earth science studies.

In Social Studies we will be studying goods and services. Please discuss the needs for food, clothing, and shelter with your child and how they are met in your family.

Remember…. Every student should have homework nightly. If your child does not have a daily homework assignment, contact your child’s teacher.

Thanksgiving Vacation

We will be on Thanksgiving break from Wednesday, Nov. 21 through Friday, Nov. 23. Classes will resume the following Monday, Nov. 26.
