Accelerated Reader Contract

The purpose of the Accelerated Reader program is to encourage reading and improve reading skills. With this in mind, students are expected to follow the rules described below:

    1.      Students may only take tests on books they have
         read or that someone has read to them.

2.    Students may not take a test on a book that was made into a movie unless they have read the book.

3.    Students may not use Cliff notes, classic comic books, videos, or abridged versions of the book to try and pass the test.

4.    Students may not take a test for another student.

5.    Students may not discuss AR questions or answers with other students.

6.    Students may not log onto another students reading record.

Consequences

Students who break the rules will face the following consequences:

1.      The test or tests involved in the cheating incident will receive a score of 0.

2.    The student will not be able to earn any rewards in the AR program for the remainder of the school year.

3.    For #6, the teacher will lower the final AR grade one letter grade.
