Welcome Parents,

We are excited to begin the 2007 – 2008 school year with the opening of our new campus. We are ready to provide many exciting challenges filled with new learning opportunities. It is the aim of Lantrip Elementary to provide every student with the learning experiences which she/he requires for academic growth. Our mission statement is in partnership with parents and community, Lantrip is the home for the active mind. We promote excellence in learning and nurture mutual respect. As a community we celebrate each other’s growth.

This past school year, Lantrip showed great improvement on our Reading, Math, and Writing TAKS scores, along with our Stanford and Aprenda. We want to continue this progress. Our new focus this year will be Science. Our fifth graders take the SCIENCE TEST in May and must pass the test with a 77% or higher. Please see the testing schedule to ensure your child is well prepared on the day of the test.

Attendance is critical at Lantrip, we expect all students to attend school everyday. Children are expected to begin instruction at 8 am. Please make sure your child arrives on time. The first bell rings at 7:50. To ensure that all students can start learning at 8:00 am, breakfast will start at 7:00 am and end at 7:50, so that all children have an opportunity to eat.

Students will be expected to attend school every day, complete all assignments, and behave appropriately. Please help us continue to set and maintain our expectations and high standards. We are certain that together we will be able to achieve them. Thank you for your support, as we continue to strive for the 2007 – 2008 school year to be your child’s most successful year ever.
