Presents "My Path, My Fate" at Lewis Elementary on Wednesday April 14, 2004

The performance showed children how to deal with low self-esteem, peer pressure, and drugs and alcohol and showed some of the negative consequences associated with these problems.

An Introduction to the Performance

The cast performs the opening song.

McKenzie talks with her parents about making new friends.

Sheila and Ricky seem to be fun-loving party people, but they have their own issues.

Low Self-esteem (a.k.a. "Lo") makes McKenzie feel that she is inadequate.

Sheila and Ricky see the vulnerability in McKenzie and decide to take advantage of it.

Peer pressure causes McKenzie to use poor judgement because she wants to please her new "friends."

Ricky and Sheila celebrate after getting money that McKenzie has stolen from her mother's purse.

Drugs and Alcohol (D 'n A) tries to convince McKenzie that she will feel better about herself if she uses these harmful substances.

McKenzie thinks she has found the solution to her problems until....

...she has an allergic reaction to the drugs and becomes very ill.

After getting counseling from Dr. Jacobs, McKenzie is finally ready to return to school.

She finds out that Ricky has been in trouble for stealing a car and Sheila has tested HIV positive as a result of her drug use.
