Lovett Library

LibraryThe Lovett Elementary Library is a newly remodeled facility that houses an up-to-date collection of over 11,000 books and audiovisuals.   It is fully automated and features four multipurpose workstations that may be used for catalog searches, internet access, or other research.   The library is staffed by Mrs. Teresa Coulthard, a certified librarian with a Masters Degree in Library Science.

Students in third through fifth grades are allowed to check out three books at a time for one week.  If materials are needed for projects,  additional books are permitted.  A book may be renewed as many times as desired unless it is a title in high demand.  Students in second grade are allowed to check out two books at a time for one week.

Kindergarten students begin checking out books during library class in January. They, along with first graders, may borrow one book per week.  The library is open Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00 P.M. until 4:00 P. M. Parents of kindergarten students are encouraged to check out  books for their children at this time during the first semester.

We do not charge late fees for overdue books, but students must pay for lost or damaged books.  If a lost book is found and returned in good condition in the same year it was lost, the money will be refunded.
