Daily Schedule

7:30 a.m.	Breakfast Begins: All students report to Cafeteria
7:50 a.m.	Students go to classrooms
8:00 a.m.	Instructional day begins
2:55 p.m.	Kindergarten dismissal
3:00 p.m.	General dismissal

     A student who has been absent must present a written excuse from the parent or guardian when he returns to school or the absence will be counted as unexcused. It is not required to notify the office if your child will be absent. The only acceptable excuses for absence and tardiness are personal illness, sickness, or death in the family, quarantine, weather or road conditions making travel dangerous, participation in school activities with permission of the principal, and emergencies or unusual circumstances recognized by the principal or person designated.
     If a student arrives after 9:30 a.m., the student is counted absent for HISD attendance purposes. If a student arrives at school on time and for whatever reason leaves the school after 9:30 a.m., the student is counted present for HISD attendance purposes but absent for grading purposes for classes missed. Parents should attempt to make doctor appointments after 9:30 a.m. or have the child back to school before 9:30 a.m.
     If a child misses four or more days of school, the school shall submit a referral to the attendance teacher assigned to that school who shall complete an "Attendance Notice" and contact the parent.
     It is essential that all students report to the school by 7:50 a.m. Students are tardy after 8:00 a.m. and must bring a written excuse from the parent or guardian. Consistent tardiness will result in a referral by the attendance clerk. Kindergarten students need to follow these procedures. All tardy students need to report to the office first for a tardy slip before going to their classroom. Habitually tardy students will be subjected to a consequence set out in the Tardy Policy.
