Arrival/Dismissal

• Classes begin at 7:45 a.m.
• Classes end at 2:45 p.m.
• Students eating breakfast at school should arrive between 7:05 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.

Attendance

• Attendance is taken at 9:30 a.m., all students are expected to attend school daily.
• School Policy mandates an attendance referral for students with 3 or more absences or with a pattern of absences.
• Students returning to school after an absence must present a written excuse.

Visitors

• Classroom visit should be scheduled in advance with the classroom teacher.
• Visits are limited to 45 minutes.
• Visitors are required to register and secure a pass in the main office prior to visitation.

Conference

• Teachers are available for parent/teacher conferences during their conference periods.
• Parents are encouraged to send written requests to schedule conferences.
• Conferences may be scheduled to occur before and after the school day, if the teacher is available.

Student Dress Code

• A student's appearance can influence behavior and affect the learning environment of the classroom. Our school  requires  our students to wear uniforms Monday -Friday.
• Khaki pant, walker shorts and skirts (below the knee), and jumpers with Hunter green or Navy tops.
• Students should wear clean, comfortable, and size appropriate clothing to school.
• Any apparel or adornment, which attracts undue attention and disrupts the learning atmosphere of the classroom may not be worn. This includes:
  • Chain belts, large fashion earrings (girls), earrings on boys are not permitted.
  • Slip-on shoes, sandals, flip-flops are not permitted.
  • Tank top, garments of see-through material may not be worn.
  • Shirts are to be tucked in and not oversized and hanging out.
  • Boys must wear belts, baggy pants are not permitted.
• Students not adhering to the dress code will be referred to the principal by the classroom teacher and their parents will be notified.

Prohibited Articles

• Students are not allowed to bring hand held recorders, Walkman, radios, beepers, guns, drugs, computer games, knives of any size to school. The items will be taken from any student who has them in his/her possession and parents will be notified. Beepers, guns, drugs and knives will be confiscated and turned over to the HISD Police Department.
