SIGHTS is a program
for gifted, high-achieving and talented students who meet
the eligibility criteria. These classes emphasize
development of higher level thinking skills through
enrichment activities.

SPECIAL
EDUCATION
classes provide individualized instructional
programs for children with special learning needs. This
support is available in Early Childhood and Resource
Classrooms. Speech Therapy and Life Skill classes are also available for
eligible children.

provide remediation and enrichment in reading
and math skills to students.
ENGLISH
AS A SECOND LANGUAGE The English as a Second Language program meets
the needs of children who have arrived from a
non-English/non-Spanish country. Instruction is conducted
in English with a strong language arts base. The goal is
to move the child into the use of English as soon as
possible, but doing so in a nurturing environment.
HU-LINC (Houston Urban Learning
Initiatives in a Networked Community) An initiative
program for improving mathematics, science, and
technology for K-12 student.
