Make sure your child gets at
least 8 hours of sleep at night.
Eat a nutritious breakfast to
stay alert throughout the day.
Keep your child home if he/she
does not legitimately feel well.
Keep your child home at least
24 hours if he/she has a fever, persistent cough,
sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, or a skin
rash. Check with your doctor if you have doubts.
Make sure your child lets
someone at school (teacher, nurse) know when
he/she is not feeling well.
Please notify your child's
teacher if he/she has any communicable diseases.
Teachers are not permitted to give
students medication. All medication must be housed and
administered in the school clinic. A form must be signed
by the physician and on file in the office. Parents may
request this form in the school office. Also, it is
school board policy that medication given by school
personnel must be for a long-term illness.
Finally, when something unusual or sad
has happened at home such as the death of a family member
or a fire, please send a note to the teacher. We are also
concerned about the mental and emotional health of our
students.
