Principal’s Report

Pavilion looks very nice,
beautiful.

Landscaping looking good

Windows cleaned, paid for by
PTO.

PTO paid for teacher’s wishes,
Thank You.

HISD replaced sidewalks over the
summer, replaced mulch in playground areas, part for playground slide on
order.
·
Got gifts from HISD, $180, 000
extra for instruments, library or media: $16,000 to Ms. Shaffer;
finish staging area also with funds;
·
Received $10,000 for support of
Winter Fest.
·
We are a Recognized School
again.
Magnet Coordinators
Report by Carol Kehlenbrink.
- Enrollment has increased in
music areas.
- Art Grant for new
instruments, field trips, etc.
- Need help with media events
& coverage for local papers.
- Tues. big event,
Grandparent’s Day, need help with lunch & sign in.
Treasurer’s Report by
Robin Bollman.
- Handouts provided with
budget for 2008-2009 school year which need approval. Motion to
approve and seconded. All approved. Motion carried.
PTO Membership by
Nedre Deajon-Jackson
- Membership dues so far
$7,199.
- Membership total has
increased this year.
- Totals will be posted using
Olympic Theme.
School Supplies/Store
by Kris Denning
- Need to get more parents to
pre-order supplies next year.
- Had a lot of online orders.
- Delivery of supplies to
classrooms worked very well.
- Will do pre-orders again in
the spring. Will only sell one day on Orientation Day, the rest will
be pre-orders.
- School store now open in
Kinder and First grade wing with 5th graders manning the
store.
- Pencil machine very
popular.

- Have forms for volunteers
to cover events, need help with writing and photos.
- If working on an event,

Funfest by Michelle

- Funfest on Sat., Oct. 25,
2008 from 10a.m.- 2p.m.
- It will be a Birthday Party
Theme celebrating Parker’s 50th Anniversary.
- Need lots of help.
- Need chairs for the various
committees: Activity Passes, Raffle, Poster Contest, Decorations,
Volunteer Coordinator, Coordinator for Sponsors, T-Shirts, & Thank You
Notes.
- 9a.m.-10a.m. will be the
Alumni Reception. Have sent out invites to old Alumni.
Old Business by
Michelle Vanderwater
- U of H project under
budget, $28,000.
- Will have get together BBQ
at Michelle’s house.
- Executive board decided to
name the new play pavilion: The Shelly Clutterbuck Play Pavilion.
- Motion to approve and
seconded the dedication. All approved. Motion passed.
- New carpet was placed in
Ms. Vosgadanes room.
- 26 teachers were granted
their wishes.
New Business by
Michelle Vanderwater.
- School special projects for
this year: Painting of bathrooms for approx. $4,500. Motion to
approve and seconded. All approved. Motion passed.
- Mini-facelift to cafeteria
& mini-gym: take down roller blinds & replace with new ones in
mini-gym; change out sound baffles with color and enhances sound.
Approximate $12,000 for this project.
- Bought new chairs, approx.
300, need 200 more.
- Two Projects (need to vote
because not enough money for both now):
- Electronic Marquee
–approx. $21,000.
- Track –approx. $30,000.
Placed to a vote. Electronic Marquee won.
Motion to approve and seconded. All approved. Motion passed.
- Introduction of new
board members and committee chairs.
- Next meeting Oct. 16,
