Everyone Has a Place
Objective: Students will create a class magazine presenting knowledge of the interdependence of living and nonliving things in various ecosystems.
1) Define habitat and ecosystem using text and musical resources.
2) Define Adaptation using text and musical resources.
3) Define and describe the 4 habitats: rainforest, forest, ocean and desert.
4) List plants and animals that naturally exist in their respective habitats.
5) Recognize animals as both predator and prey in the food chain.
6) Identify plant and animal characteristics and adaptations that enable survival in their habitats.
7) Choosing a habitat, each group of students will create magazine articles. The students will use art resources to inspire, design, and create illustrations and graphics to enhance written activities in the following categories: food chain, habitat, plant adaptations, animal adaptations, and maps of habitat locations.
8) Students will assemble their individual products and publish in a class magazine
