Parker Elementary is offering preschoolers (ages one to
four years) an introduction to basic music concepts
through its program called TEMPO. Parker music teachers Mrs.
Rosemary Jodeit and Mrs. Kathy Karpicke
instruct tiny tots in rhythm, melody through listening, tapping and
story-telling in age appropriate activities.
Parents attend the lessons with their children, learning related games and
activities for additional fun at home.
Music offers incredible benefits to the development of a child by
improving listening skills, coordination,
language development, socialization, self-expression and
self-confidence. Children who have music
education show improved standardized test scores in Math and Language,
even in High School.

Tempo Music Classes for preschoolers (one to four years) and an
accompanying parent are offered as follows:
Session I Fall 2004...... September 20, 27, October 4, 11, 18,
& 25
Session II Spring 2005..... February 7, 14, 21, 28, March 7 & 14
Session III Spring 2005..... April 4, 18, 25, May 2, 9, 16
A.M. Class is scheduled from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. P.M. Class is
scheduled from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m.
The class fee is $40.00 per child ($25.00 for an additional sibling)
that includes the cost of the C.D.
and take-home booklet that accompanies the instruction. Enrollment is
limited.
