Students will learn math shortcut strategies for multiplication (x10, x11, x12, x25, x50, and x100), squaring a number ending in five, two digit numbers multiplied together, and much more.  They will also work on problem solving, mental math strategies, and a math project. At the end of the school year, students will compete against other schools in a math competition. This club teaches students to manipulate numbers in their head as they develop a keen number sense and experience increased confidence in their mathematical abilities.  Such confidence ensures that these students will not have to turn to calculators or pencil and paper for every straightforward calculation they encounter in daily life.  These lessons are fun and with plenty of practice they will become Math Magicians!
