For the past several years, we
have been phasing into becoming a school with 100% standardized dress
(uniforms). A committee has now formulated our policy for required
uniforms by all for this school year.

Required
standardized dress (uniform):
Pants: Navy blue or khaki must be sized to fit and worn with a belt
if there are belt loops. Pants must extend below the ankle, but above
the heel. Pants may not be rolled up or folded. Belts must be BLACK or BROWN only. Belts are not
required for Pre-K and Kindergarten. However elasticized waist pants are
encouraged. Stretch pants, wind pants, or sweat pants are not allowed. Clothing must have no holes or decorations.
Jumpers, shorts, skirts, or skorts: Navy blue or khaki, no
more than 2 inches above the crease at the back of the knee. Clothing must
have no holes or decorations.
Shirt or blouse: Solid (no emblems) red, white, or navy blue button shirt with
collar; Shirt tucked in at all times. Only a white t-shirt or
turtlenck may be worn under a uniform shirt. Clothing must have no holes or decorations.
Sweater: Solid red, white, or navy blue sweater or sweatshirt
with no emblems.
Clothing must have no holes or decorations.
Heavyweight jacket: Worn to and from school; no over-sized
jackets
Shoes: Low heel, closed-toe shoe with flat rubber soles; no
sandals or slip-on shoes; socks must be worn. Shoelaces must be
black, brown, or white only, tied and strapped.
Hats, caps, head covering: None allowed in the building
(exception: scout uniform or special events).
Jewelry: Not distracting (best left at home); school is not
responsible for loss. No earrings for boys; small hoops or studs for
girls are appropriate. One medium size chain only. Small purse
must fit in backpack.
Make-up: no make-up; no decorated (nail polish) or false nails; no tattoos
Hair: Natural color only (no dye); no designs in hair. Boys
hair must be no longer than collar length.
Backpacks: Must be clear or mesh only.
*Friday Apparel: Plain Blue denim jeans, shorts,
skirts, etc. Scarborough Spirit Shirts, other club shirts (Skyhawk shirt, etc.),
and appropriate college shirts can be worn on Friday
only. Friday clothing must have no holes or decorations.
*New for 2009-2010:
Students will be allowed to wear jeans on Friday ONLY if they have been in
full uniform (including belt) on Monday through Thursday of the week.*
Consequences for not wearing full uniform:
Violation 1: Student is sent to the office for compliance. A letter is sent home notifying parent of
non-compliance. This letter must be signed and returned to the teacher
on the following day.
Violation 2: Student is sent to the office for compliance.
A letter is sent home notifying parent of
non-compliance. This letter must be signed and returned to the teacher
on the following day.
Violation 3: Student is sent to the office for compliance.
A letter is sent home notifying parent of
non-compliance. This letter must be signed and returned to the teacher
on the following day. A phone call is made to the parent to discuss
noncompliance.
Violation 4: Student is sent to the office for compliance.
A letter is sent home notifying parent of
non-compliance. This letter must be signed and returned to the teacher
on the following day. Student is assigned detention.
Violation 5: Student is sent to the office for compliance.
A letter is sent home notifying parent of
non-compliance. This letter must be signed and returned to the teacher
on the following day. A phone call is made to the parent to arrange a
conference between an administrator and the parent.
