Mary E. Scroggins Elementary 2009 Pumpkin-Literature Contest Entries

This year's contest was held on October 15, 2009. The theme was BOOKS BY ALMA FLOR ADA,
ISABEL CAMPOY, ELLEN LEVANTHAL, ELLEN ROTHBERG, MELISSA WILLIAMS OR ILLUSTRATED BY BILL MEGENHARDT.

The Pumpkin-Literature contest is a classroom activity in which the students collaborate to create a display that represents their interpretation of a piece of literature. A pumpkin or pumpkins must be used in the display. The book or story must adhere to the current year's theme. The teacher and/or students may choose the book or story but most or all of the students in the class must participate in the creation of the display.
