Mary E. Scroggins Elementary 2009 Pumpkin-Literature Contest Winners
This year's contest was held on October 15, 2009. The theme was: BOOKS BY ALMA FLOR ADA,  ISABEL CAMPOY, ELLEN LEVANTHAL, ELLEN ROTHBERG, AND/OR MELISSA WILLIAMS OR ILLUSTRATED BY BILL MEGENHARDT

The Pumpkin-Literature contest is a classroom activity in which the students collaborate to create a display that represents their interpretation of a piece of literature. A pumpkin or pumpkins must be used in the display. The book or story must adhere to the current year's theme. The teacher and/or students may choose the book or story but most or all of the students in the class must participate in the creation of the display.
