SETTING UP SHEARN'S OUTLOOK CALENDAR

Instructions for setting up Shearn's calendars in Outlook for Windows XP
 

Open Outlook
Under the Tools menu, choose E-mail Accounts
Click on radio button: View or Change existing e-mail accounts
Click Next
Microsoft Exchange Server
should be highlighted
Click Change
Click More Settings button
Click Advanced Tab
Click Add
Type cbuck
Click OK
Click Apply
Click OK
Click Next
Click Finish
 

Outlook 97 instructions for setting up Reagan calendars Outlook 97

Open Outlook
Go to Tools on the Menu Bar
Click on Services
Be sure Microsoft Exchange Server is highlighted
Click on the Properties button
Click on the Advanced Tab
Click on the Add button
Once the window opens, type in cbuck
Click on the OK button (the window will close)
Click on the OK button,
Click the next OK button.

 

In either version of Outlook, you will need to have the Folder List option chosen. Some of us use the Outlook Bar.  It is much easier to see the sub-folders in the folder List view.  Choose View from the menu, then click "Folder List".

 

 

 Network Printer Setup Instructions

FOR WINDOWS XP:
  1. Find a suitable network printer in a convenient location
  2. Ask the technology teacher for the network-name of that printer
  3. From the "start" menu, choose Printers and faxes
  4. From the left column choose Add new printer
  5. Then:
  6. Then choose:

    In the "Name" box, type:  \\shearn-bdc\ at this point, a list will appear--there are over 50 printers,  you must choose (and highlight) the correct network-printer name.
  7. Then
  8. It will ask if you'd like to make it your default printer--this will be your call, say yes or no.
  9. Then

You're done!

FOR WINDOWS 98:

  1. START BUTTON--SETTINGS--PRINTERS (if you can't follow this, stop now and get help)

  2. Double-click the ADD PRINTER icon--followed by a "NEXT" button

  3. Choose radio button: NETWORK PRINTER

  4. In the line "Network Path or Queue Name" type: \\shearn-bdc\XXXXXXX.  If you know the name, type it in place of the Xs above. Otherwise, can "browse" to find the correct printer--if you know the name of the printer.  To browse: Entire Network > West > Shearn-BDC > "highlight" the name of your printer and choose Next 

  5. Say NO to MS-DOS

  6. Click OK OR Next

  7. With this dialog box you can type a "user friendly" name for your purposes--to remind you of what printer it is

  8. Click OK, then OK, then Next

  9. It will ask you to name the printer--for your purposes (as a reminder of which printer it is), type a name--perhaps the location, like "Main office".

  10. It will ask if you want to print a Test page--it's up to you.

  11. It will ask if you want to make this printer the Default Printer--that is up to you.

  12. Click Finish

 

Mapping a network drive:

  1. Right-click on the My Computer icon

  2. Choose Map network drive

  3. Do not click anything--Chose a Letter for the Drive

  4. in the Path line type: \\shearn-rs01\folder name or  \\shearn-bdc\folder name

  5. Check "Reconnect at login" radio button

  6. Click OK

  7. A window will appear--close it (if it doesn't appear, go on to the next step).
    YOU'RE MAPPED!
