- George Ruth, better known as Babe Ruth was born on 1855 in Baltimore.
- His parents worked in a little restaurant on West Camden street.
- His parents were always asking him to go to school, but he always said
no .

- Attended St. Mary’s school at the age 7 ½ years old .
- He saw his first baseball diamond the first day of school on a tour of
the school.
- George became the best baseball player at St. Mary’s and at age 10 George was moved to the
12 year old league .

- George was discovered at school by major league baseball scout Jack
Dunn.
- George joined the Baltimore Orioles at age 18 when in high school.
- On the first day of practice George Ruth was nicknamed “Babe” Ruth by
his team mates because of his
young age.

- Babe was traded to the Boston Red Sox on September 9,1918.
- Babe’s outstanding baseball skills led his team to win 8 world series.

- George once again traded to another team named the New York Yankees.
- On September 30,1927 Babe Ruth hit his 714th homerun. Almost
a year later, Babe Ruth died on August 16,1948.
