- Clara Barton was born in 1821 Christmas
- She had two brothers and two sisters.
- Clara was the youngest .
- She lived in Massachusetts.

- Clara was a shy person.
- Her first job was a teacher.
- She was very small.
- She could play sports better than her students.
- Her students were very surprised.

- Clara found the right job.
- She wanted to be a nurse in the war.
- A couple years later she was elected President of the Red Cross.
- She helped many people in the war.
- Clara worked all night and all day long.

- 1883 Clara returned to the UNITED STATES from CUBA.
- She established a branch of the RED CROSS.
- She helped in floods, epidemics, as well as victims of the war.
- At the age of 77 CLARA became a battle nurse again.
- She died 13 years later at the age of 90.
