- Wilbur was born on April 16,1867 in Millville, Indiana.
- Orville was born on August 19,
1871.
- When the Wright Brothers were growing up, their father brought home a
Penaud helicopter model. They
built and repaired larger models.

- In school the brothers experiments would get in the way of their school
work. They would skip classes and once Orville got expelled.
- When Wilbur was in his teens, he invented a machine to fold newspaper.
When Orville was in his teens, he opened a small printing firm.
- In 1892, the brothers opened a bicycle shop called the Wright Brothers
Cycle Shop. They built and repaired bicycles.

- In 1902 the Brothers set a time record with the World’s first practical
controllable glider.
- In 1903 the brothers made the first controllable airplane called the
Flyer 1.
- In 1904 they built the Flyer 2.
- In 1905 they built Flyer 3 the
World’s first practical airplane.

- On July 30,1909 the U.S Army accepted the Military Flyer into service.
- On November 22,1909 the Brothers setup the Wright Company in the U.S to
build airplanes.
- On May 30,1912 Wilbur died of Typhoid Fever in Dayton, Ohio.
- On January 30, 1948 in Dayton ,Ohio. Wilbur died of two heart attacks.
