- Wilbur Wright was born on April 16, 1867 in Millville, Indiana. Orville
was born on August 16,1871 in Dayton, Ohio.

- Their ideas became more mechanical and they started a bicycle shop.
- Their father was always going places brought home a mini rubber band
glider that inspired Wilbur and Orville with airplanes.
- They became really interested when they learned about Otto Lilienthal’s
death.

- Wilbur learned a lot about flying from observing birds. During the years
of 1900-1903 they developed the first effective airplane. They called
their plane Kitty Hawk.
- Wilbur got typhoid fever and died on May 30, 1912. Wilbur was 48. on
January 27, 1948.
- Orville suffered a heart attack
and died 3 days later. He was 78 years old.
