ALL VOLUNTEERS

Looking to volunteer to help in your child’s classroom or go on a field trip?  You need to register?  Go to the office and let them know you want to be a VIP (very important parent).  You will be asked to fill out a blue form and the office will need to copy your driver’s license.  If there is any other information that is needed from you and/or after you have been approved your name will appear on a posted list in the office and you will receive a confirmation slip letting you know when the approval occurred.  The approval process takes about 4 weeks so don’t delay.

 

ROOM REPRESENTATIVE MEETING

Its time to set the date!  Our information meeting will be held on Monday, September 24 at 3:30 pm in the library.  This is a very important time to discuss in detail and answer any questions that you may have about being a room rep.  Also, remember to sign up as a V.I.P.S. volunteer with Ms. Billingsley, the school secretary, as this is required to help with school parties and field trips.  So let’s get ready to have an awesome year!

 

PTA MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

The PTA membership drive has begun.  If you would like to join the PTA please

contact Amber Reid at (832) 274-8553 or Cindy Stafford at (713) 927-4728.  Flyers with envelopes went out last Monday and Tuesday.  You may send the envelopes back to school with your information and $5.00 per adult membership. We will also have a table set up Open House on September 18. Thanks to everyone who has joined and we look forward to a great year.

 

FOOD SERVICE FOOD

Food service food prepared for students may not be removed from the cafeteria.

 

FALL FESTIVAL IS COMING

The Fall Festival will be held on Friday, October 26.  If you would like to join the fun and make this festival the best one ever for our children, contact Cindy Stafford (713) 927-4728 or Lee Mashburn (713) 867-5160.  We can’t wait to see the children’s faces when they come out to our Sinclair Fall Festival.  Please plan on coming out and sharing in our children’s joy.

 

CONFETTI EGGS

Do you love confetti eggs?  We need all of you to help make 90 dozen for our fall festival.  Please Call. Thank You.

 

ALL VISITORS MUST SIGN IN

All visitors must sign in at the front office.  If you are going to stay in the cafeteria during breakfast or if you have an appointment to see a teacher before school starts you must sign in and get a badge.

 

DRESS CODE

Is your child in compliance with the Sinclair Dress Code?

Each child has two weeks from the day he/she enters Sinclair Elementary to comply with the dress code.  If you have any questions regarding the dress code please call the school at (713) 867-5160.

 

SCHOOL ARRIVAL TIME

Doors will be open at 7:15 a.m. for students to enter the building.  Students should not arrive before 7:15 a.m.  Breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m.  For the safety of your children please do not drop them off earlier than 7:15 a.m.  There is no one on duty before that time.

 

SINCLAIR T-SHIRTS NEEDED FOR ALL FIELD TRIPS

Please remember that it is mandatory that children wear Sinclair t-shirts for all field trips.

 

CHERRYDALE KICKOFF

The Cherrydale Farm Fundraiser Kickoff will be on September 26th.  All orders and money is due back to the school on October 10th.  CASH ONLY will be accepted.  The money earned from this fundraiser will be used for refurbishing the school grounds and sprucing up the inside of the building.  Don’t we look nice?

 

BAND SCHEDULE

The following is the band practice schedule for the week of September, 24th.

 

Monday – Flute

Tuesday – Clarinet

Wednesday – Saxophone

Thursday – Brass

Friday – Percussion

 

Monday – Thursday practice is from 3:00 to 3:50 pm.

Friday practice is from 3:00 to 3:45 pm.

 

DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP RULES

The circle drive off of Grovewood (front of the school) will be open for drop-off only in the mornings.  Buses are the only traffic that should be going through that circle drive in the afternoons.  The circle drive off of Manville (by the cafeteria) is also open to drop-off in the mornings.  The Manville circle drive will be the only pick-up (carpool line) location in the afternoons.  Children should wait to be escorted to their parent’s cars in the carpool line and not run through the traffic.  We want everyone to get home safely.

Please do not park in either circle drive.  You must park on the street before, during and after school if you are coming into the school.
