Community Partners:

Lulu M. Stevens Elementary works closely with the following businesses and community organizations to give our Stallions the best educational experience possible. Below are descriptions of their partnerships:

Farmers Insurance
Thanks to their generous donation from agent David Lorms, we are able to fund our attendance incentive program and TAKS Super Store. The TAKS Super Store is another incentive program designed to excite and motivate students to do their very best on the TAKS tests. Students redeem TAKS passing scores for Stallion Bucks, which can be used to purchase items in the TAKS Super Store. Again, thanks Farmers Insurance and Mr. Lorms.

St.Stephen's United Methodist Church
Additionally, we are proud to have St. Stephen's U.M.C. as a long standing Community Partner. St. Stephen's assists Lulu M. Stevens in several ways. Their congregation provides:

ApartmentWIZ
ApartmentWIZ employees participate in a Partnership Program with Stevens Elementary to mentor students at the elementary school near the Houston office. Employees volunteer their time to meet with those students every week for an hour or two. Employees supplement the children's education by helping them with school work, playing games, and trying to provide a positive influence on their lives. It has proven to be a fulfilling  experience for both ApartmentWIZ and the students of Stevens Elementary.

Oaks Presbyterian
Oaks Presbyterian has assisted Stevens with special projects this year.  In early August 20 volunteers helped to get Stevens ready for the opening of school.  Volunteers put up bulletin boards, made copies and assisted new and returning teachers in their classrooms.

Thank You
Our students and all community stakeholders are enriched by the
generosity of our Community Partners. We are so very grateful for them. If you or someone you know, an individual or business, would like to become a Friend of Stevens Elementary by being a Community Partner please contact Lucy Anderson, Principal.
